A unique, secluded haven tucked away amongst the trees.
A grove of mature trees, including two giant redwoods, provide seclusion from the street, shelter from the wind and a natural habitat for wildlife. Wake up each morning to the sound of Tui birdsong, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy your personal oasis of calm.
Land steeped in history and shaped by community.
The mature trees are a testament to another unique feature of Bremner Park: its rich history. The site was first purchased in 1885 for £113 by Alexander Wilson, a Scottish farmer who arrived in New Zealand aboard the ship ‘Otago’ twelve years earlier. It then passed to his daughter Annah Bremner, whose family lends its name to both Bremner Park and the nearby Bremner Bay.
Since leaving the Bremner family’s hands in 1939, the land has been carefully safeguarded by its subsequent owners. The redwoods and pear tree originally planted by Alexander Wilson still stand tall, and the old kerosene tin shed used by Annah Bremner’s sons remains intact.
The land’s history is also evident by the close-knit community around it, comprised of numerous longstanding neighbours and wider Old Town Wanaka residents.
Bremner Park represents the next, exciting chapter in this story. Not only is it a rare opportunity to acquire property in this coveted area, it is an invitation to belong to the exclusive community of owners who have guarded and cherished this land.
